A philological study on poisoning and side effects of Chinensis Galla(五倍子)

Abstract

|
Chinensis Galla is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Chinensis Galla for astringing the lung to stop cough(斂肺止咳), arresting seminal emission(?精), stopping of bleeding(止血), eliminating toxin(解毒), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, side effects, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Chinensis Galla. The results were summarized as follows： 1. The ingredients of side effects from Chinensis Galla mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, etc. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment in the Korean or western medicine are symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. In order to prevent against side effects of Chinensis Galla, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.
